This is a big year for Clinton and Partners in Community is excited to be involved in celebrating our town! As you know, 2013 marks the 350th anniversary of Clinton’s founding. Fun events to honor Clinton and the citizens that make our town so great are happening all year, including our second annual community

PiCnic following the Memorial Day Parade on May 27th. Memorial Day is a time for our community to come together to recognize the sacrifices many have made for our country. Clinton’s ceremony is a long-standing tradition, and we hope to add to the importance of the day by gathering to celebrate our country and town.

Following this year’s Memorial Day parade, everyone in Clinton is invited to a community PiCnic! It will be a great chance to once again celebrate our awesome town and the fact that all of us are partners in community. We hope to see a few hundred people there throughout the afternoon to eat great food, play games, sing patriotic songs and enjoy each other’s company. The Little NoRA Cupcake Truck will make an appearance so you can buy one (or six!), and we’ll wrap up our 26 Acts “kindness revolution”.  Thanks to generous donations from local businesses, every PiCnic attendee will get a free hot dog and ice cream!

To make this day a success it’s all hands on deck. We are reaching out to our community partners for help, especially with our basket raffle. We’re looking for baskets of family-friendly items to auction off at the PiCnic. Raffle tickets will be sold at the main entrance for only $1 each, and all of the money raised will be donated to the Chase Kowalski Memorial Fund via Clinton’s 26 Acts of Kindness project.

If your organization is able to donate a basket we would be extremely grateful! You can drop it off to our office at 61 E. Main Street, or give us a call at 860.664.1141 and we’ll be happy to pick it up.

We hope to see you at the PiCnic on May 27! It begins right after the parade on the lawn at Pierson (75 E. Main Street, Clinton). Check out the photos of last year’s PiCnic – the day we officially became Partners in Community – to see the fun had by all!
